Heres a handy guide for you. If the network you watch is pretending Trump has been slighted in any way in this election it is fake news. He got the most favorable coverage of any President by the media you rail against. Its not their fault that they are covering a bat**** insane person.

Trump did ask several times. I believe he even asked the previous President Poreshenko. We have a treaty with them that requires cooperation in investigations. It was used to get help in the Manafort trial for conspiracy against the US that helped convict him. Trump was either told to go through official channels which is the DoJ/FBI opening up an investigation and them asking for cooperation. Trump didnt do it that way because the point was to make this look like Ukraine was doing this independently. I dont know exactly what Ukraine was telling Trump when he was asking but suddenly after Joe Biden officially announced his candidacy the ask turned into a demand. Because Ukraine was probably sugar coating their "no" answer Trump probably took that as already having got a yes before and Ukraine didnt do anything so he starts ordering the halt on military aide.
