Let's Talk About Media

Watching Rand Paul try to explain rational objective facts to the women on the view was... painful.

Why anyone who isn't a bleeding socialist would go on there is baffling to me

Bill Barr's meeting with Fox News chairman should be investigated

There was an interesting development about Fox News in recent days, and it wasn't just about the sudden departure of anchor Shephard Smith.

Why did Attorney General Bill Barr meet Wednesday night with Fox News chairman Rupert Murdoch, and (as the New York Times reported) do so at the media mogul's home?

Neither would publicly comment, but the meeting — between a public servant who has shown himself increasingly as a Trump loyalist, and the owner of the President's longtime favorite, cheerleading, cable news network — has raised a few eyebrows, and with good reason.

This administration has gone completely rouge. What could be next?

He is making a point I have made for years, he just does it very badly. You don't own your body. The government does. You cant really argue that a woman has privacy of her own body for abortion and that I dont have the right to smoke weed.

There is no defensible journalistic rationale for how differently these stories were played.

Not one to complain about each and very media slight that crosses my path yet,
This threw a Presidential race.

So while we read all weekend of the outrage HRC called out Rep Gabbard (less than 1%) ---- this is glossed over.

Y'all might wanna temper your media pearl clutching over each ridiculous thing Ben Shapiro spouts . This type of publishing does effect the public perception in a meaningful way. It fed into "crooked Hillary" .
How'd her opponent put, " I'm tired of hearing about her damn emails"
..............

File this falls under, " what propaganda"

The way the media phrases it is interesting. What it doesn't say is that there were numerous instances where classified material was breached or could've been easily been breached due to Hillary's improper and probably illegal handling of said classified material. Negligence for a Sec. of State handling classified material, like running a private server without proper security, should be a big no-no. The fact that there was "no systematic or deliberate mishandling" seems beside the point to me.

However the media phrases it, there was a thorough investigation.
Contrary to public perception there was "no systematic or deliberate mishandling".
To borrow a phrase, " total exoneration "

Perhaps the upgrading of safeguards is in order.
She was after all advised by previous SoS's to operate this way
and if reports are correct this is still the method of executive branch business
...............

As it turns out most all (if not all) of the headline grabbing accusations of the 2016 election involving HRC have been debunked
Which for the sake of this topic was a gigantic media failure

Anything short of "The Prez is a LIAR and a THUG!!!" is less than the truth. But the media has to stay in the mainstream and has to be careful how much "truth" they reveal.

: Why did you name the Daily Caller as a fact-checker for FB?

Zuckerberg:
We don’t appoint the fact-checkers. They go through an independent org with a rigorous standard.

AOC:
So you would say white supremacist tied publications meet a rigorous standard for fact-checking?

: "In your ongoing dinner parties with far-right figures, some of whom advance the conspiracy theory that white supremacy is a hoax, did you discuss so-called social media bias against conservatives, and do you believe there is a bias?"
Zuckerberg: [Stammers sweatily]

this all on CSAPN for those that have an interest in media influence.
