Let's Talk About Media

Laura Ingraham should've received more criticism for her comments and tone about LeBron than the twitter comment about the Parkland kid. The tweet about Hogg was pretty tame by comparison. She should've immediately apologized on television for her comments and this probably would've blown over fairly quickly. Instead, she said nothing on her program, don't blame Hogg for not accepting that apology.

The Sinclair broadcasting thing is more disturbing than anything. I went to school for journalism and part of the reason I got out of the industry after college was how politicized things had become even in 2011. The local news does not need to be politicized. The fact they made everyone read the same thing would've infuriated me especially if I was one of those anchors. All your credibility is gone and for what? If I had been the producer on that show and they told me to include that in the newscast, I would've resigned rather than air it. Sure, I'd be out a job but I'd still have my dignity.

We need a free press to hold those in power accountable regardless of political affiliation. We don't need state run media.
 
Another good example of why decades of neutering organized labor has consequences beyond paychecks. Those local newspeople are afraid of getting canned and blackballed if they put a toe wrong.

Sometimes I just hate the fact that people in this country have no experience with how propaganda works

and have no interest in learning about it either.

Propaganda is like fire. You smother it or it spreads.

I am reminded of a fellow poster asking me to name "what specific propaganda was used" (paraphrase)

she has been pretty good with who what where and when's.

I would think more likely Mar a Lago or Trump tower or even that golf course outside of Moscow.

Oh they interfered. But not for the purpose you think. And they are not the only ones who interfere.

Not sure your familiarity with bureaucracies - but if an underling let alone the Secretary of any organization is threatened, necessitating millions of dollars in security, there is a file somewhere.
And when it involves this much money, it is readily available . As in ---- on someones desk, top of the pile.

Or, conveniently hidden away in the David Dennison file
