Haha, lost me at John Lott. A guy whose signature academic achievement, which is probably the single biggest contributor to pro-gun myths in America, was completely discredited, to the extent that he removed his name from the original study, is making claims about “academic malpractice.”

I don't know much about Lott but I typically trust Stossell. I thought the claims were interesting and they make sense that the guy possible couldn't have tracked down every shooting. But like I said... haven't looked into beyond posting it here
 
A synopsis: John Lott published a book called “More Guns, Less Crime,” which was based on research on the subject, the gist of which is clear from the title. It was hugely influential in pro-gun culture and literature, and sadly remains so. Subsequent researchers pointed out egregious coding “errors” in his method, ran his numbers after correcting those errors, and came to the opposite conclusion. Lott fought it for a while then eventually very quietly removed his name from the original research.

This is not the guy you want making arguments about academic integrity, a guy who was willing to cook his numbers for, I guess, his own personal gain and the advancement of his political agenda. Maybe he’s right about Lankford’s study, maybe not, but he’s hardly a credible source.

This is the real collusion and if anyone actually cared about the sanctity of our democracy this would be investigated. The left and the media in this country are implementing a long term plan to completely reshape the direction of the country by their LACK of reporting on items.
