I want to see her do good for her gender and her races and to that end, I'd like her to appear a little more serious in public. Her public persona as VP is a rather large part of the job. A lot of the electorate was not tickled pink at her win and does not share in her "black girl joy" as I heard one pundit say. It is possible to be happy and gracious without all the goofiness.

I remember now that I had the same criticism of Obama. I thought his smile was too big and toothy and he should find a more moderate smile. lol Am I making a subconscious racial judgement?

I don't watch either anymore. I had been following CNNs and Foxnews' websites for news but I can't take it anymore. They're both absolutely terrible. CNNs website might even be more partisan. They have driven me to the BBC.

The giggles and smirks are like nails on a chalkboard for me. They're so affected that it gets my hackles up.

I agree she needs to project a more serious air. She has a serious job as Pence showed recently.

I don't watch any news other than election nights and occasional events so I can't comment on the smiling. I don't remember Obama appearing unserious. But I'm with you on constantly talking about the intersectionality points. You know what would be even more inspiring for women and minorities than constantly talking about her being a woman and a minority? Not talking about her being a woman and a minority.

The media will eventually, just as it did for much of the past two months and just as everybody has stopped talking about the race and gender of pretty much every major leader that’s taken office across the world. Yesterday it was exciting and talked about constantly because it finally happened. Sure, there will be talk of it for a little while, and then occasionally after the new wears off, but it won’t be a constant barrage for long.
 
America was much more successful with reducing emissions when we left this stupid thing. But virtues gotta be signaled

I think it's less serious than that, mostly a cosmetic and trivial thing. She can smile and giggle when interacting with her friends in public and still work hard at her job. I just think it plays bad among people who are prejudiced against her as I think it did with Obama and it's less than smart politics.
 
I think Bidens a big PoS who deserves to die in prison but he is a breath of fresh air from the ramblings of a lunatic that was the last 4 years.

But hey, Biden already has a better record on jobs added than Trump and its day 2 of his administration. People are happy to have a mostly incompetent President instead of a bat **** crazy and fully incompetent President.
