Lineup change

I think we should switch it up some...

Mallex

Aybar

FF

Markakis

Garcia

Aj/flowers

Olivera/Johnson

Beckham

I think aybar 2nd would allow mallex to run more and break up lefties at top. I think Markakis behind FF would force teams to pitch to FF more. I'd like to see Olivera/Johnson platoon in LF

Lineup change won't cause certain turds to start hitting. Why would teams rather pitch to Freeman than Nick? All he will do is fist one in to shallow right. Nothing to be afraid of there.

Certainly not predicting it to continue, but so far Markakis has an ops of 885. While teams might not be scared of Markakis, they certainly aren't scared of Garcia. Besides, we have to do something to try and get FF going

Although the results are mixed so far with respect to them, there are three players that we need to give about 300 plate appearances to so that we can find out what we've got. I'm talking about Olivera, Garcia and Peterson. Maybe they aren't major league regulars. But we need to find out. This might mean sending Mallex back to AAA when Inciarte comes back. He'll eventually get his chance. So I'm in a stay the course camp. I want Olivera, Garcia and Peterson in on most nights at least through June. Then draw conclusions and make changes. I don't care about where they are in the lineup.

I want Garcia to keep playing daily, but maybe platooning Peterson and Olivera would help them get going. Maybe letting them see rhp/lhp only a while would help build some confidence which they seem to be missing. If they start hitting lhp, then work them in more vs rhp/lhp

The "rhp/lhp" might be confusing... Think you guys know I mean Peterson vs rhp and Olivera vs lhp

You could draws names out of a hat to set the order and do just as well. FF, Nick and Mallex/Ender should be in the top 4. After that they are all interchangeable pieces.

I'm fine with giving Olivera and Peterson a game or two off a week. But we need to find out if they can cut it as regulars (or at least the left handed side of a platoon in Jace's case). I'm leaning toward the view that they can't but I think we need to give them more time to show one way or the other.

I like Markakis hitting 2nd in front of Freeman. If men are on base, they're not going to pitch around Freeman.

If mallex is on base, do we want Markakis taking pitches for mallex to run though?

I don't really ever want my hitters taking pitches specifically to allow a runner to steal. I'm ok with it on occasion with a called steal, but if it's a good pitch, I want my hitter swinging.

Yeah, that makes sense. Who is our best fastball hitter? 2-hole might be a good spot for em with mallex on base (hopefully) and FF on deck

At least Ender should be back soonish:
Mallex Smith CF
Inciarte LF
Markakis RF
Freeman 1B
Adonis 3B
Aybar SS
AJ/Flowers C
Peterson 2B

Until Ender is back, we can do KJ in LF and hitting around 5-6.

I could go with that. Wish we had a decent rh option to break up all the lefties at top though... Like Albies

Nobody is going to pitch to Freeman instead of Nick. Freeman has to get himself going.
