Long shot Catcher Possibility

The Angels just released minor league catcher Charles Cutler, who was hitting .380 at AAA in only 79 at-bats. He's old (28, 29 in a few weeks), and he spent six years at AA for three different organizations. He has a career .306/.393/.413 minor league line. He was only throwing out nine percent of base stealers at Triple-A this year, and for his career he's only at 22 percent. He probably sucks.

But hell, I say we throw Cutler a bone, give him a shot. Guy has been a pretty solid hitter throughout his career, he hits from the left side, he has some experience in the outfield...what do we have to lose, really? It's worth throwing him a few dozen ABs to see if he can make an impression.
