Interesting to see the tone change on Braves Twitter about this extension compared with previous extensions. All the sudden the majority of fans are really starting to get on board with ole ‘snickers.
Snit is not a good tactician, but he is a good manager of athletes. It's very hard to quantify the soft skills of being a MLB manager, but they are likely more important than not bringing in the right BP arm at exactly the right time. We saw first hand in the 2020 postseason how the wrong moves can work out with a talented roster and a little bit of luck.
So at the end of the day, we just have to bang our heads against the wall watching the sub-optimal moves while enjoying the overall success of the team. How much of that is due to Snit? No idea, but he's proven beyond all doubt that the Braves can win with him in charge.

Managers dont have that kinda impact in games. It's not like the NFL where you really need a good HC but having an elite QB changes things (Texans situation aside).

Yeah i know you didnt, just saying in general managers dont have a huge impact in winning baseball games.

DOB said on his page, one extension down, one big one to go. I would hope/think they hammer out something before the season, that's good for both sides.

Seems inevitable. DOB has said all off season he has no doubt it will happen.
I feel like I’m more comfortable with a Freeman extension now that Ozuna’s on board for the foreseeable future. That thing with Freeman and Acuna in 2019 especially considering the playoff performance of each really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Exactly and Freeman couldn’t get him in with a sac fly. But he was ready to judge Acuna in public.

If we can sign Freeman, having a top 4 of Acuna, Albies, Freeman, Ozuna for the forseeable future is quite good. And as someone else said, Acuna was on the low list of reasons Atlanta lost to St Louis in 2019. Hardly anyone except Albies, Swanson, and Acuna could hit for squat that series.
