Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

There are reasons AA jumped out ahead of the pack and signed Morton and Smyly. Those same reasons do not apply to why he offered Camargo and Jackson at the expense of Duvall but we can all guess why. There are currently 21 roster spots taken by last year members but IMO 5 or more are on short strings if the opportunity arises. As it stands now, LF/3B and big bat are needed ( we all agree with that) regardless of DH situation. One thing Im pretty sure of is that RIley will fill one of those needs.

We have long known that Inciarte has negative value.

There have been plenty of posts about attaching him to someone in an attempt to move him - some folks like to see things in print rather than hear it from someone on a message board. The Nishikawa situation helps show just how good that "something" likely has to be to get someone to take Ender - Nishikawa wasn't even expected to get the same type of offer the Reds gave Akiyama last winter, and that was significantly lower than Inciarte or Kiermaier will make.

Dodgers re-sign Blake Trienen, 2 year deal worth 17.5 mil total with a 8 mil club option. Microwave is on.

The Mets are finalizing a deal to acquire Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrsaco from the Indians, source confirms. Andrés Giménez and Josh Wolf, among others, are going back to Cleveland.
