Looking Ahead - The 2020 Offseason Thread

Random question, but with ATL hosting the All Star game this season (if there is one), would we be able to apply some of the profits towards payroll at the deadline?

I liked Melancon for his closing experience - and big game experience - and would like to have had him back because of those traits, but as someone who fits as a "shutdown" guy there's no doubt he wasn't one.

If money's tight, Rosenthal probably isn't an option, but Keone Kela is still floating around out there without a job - and he definitely misses them. ZiPS has him with a 3.21 ERA/3.33 FIP and a 12.0/3.5 BB/K ratio. Health is a question there, but he also has plenty of closing/late-inning experience, and with his health concerns he might take a minor league deal at this point.

Would have liked MM back but was always scary seeing him work the 9th inning. Wanna see what kinda money he got. It's a little alarming our best bullpen guys are all lefty.

Heyman: Star 3B Justin Turner has multiyear offers from at least the incumbent champion Dodgers and the Brewers. His hometown Dodgers are naturally seen as the favorite but Milwaukee is said hopeful. Mets, Jays and Braves are among others linked to JT but seem less likely for now.

Nah. Camargo is going to surprise everyone with a 4 win season. AA we trust.

Already been said but ender is clearly healthy and BSoL. We are ready to roll guys.

Wow I don't even know what say with regards to Cabrera. That one was a no brainer. Unless Zona was promising more playing time, I really find it hard to believe we could not top that.

It's looking like the money given to Smiley may have tapped us out.

I mean hell, you could have cut Camargo, signed Cabrera and saved $200k...maybe more, one could assume he’d have taken a little less to be with a team that will contend instead of get their teeth knocked in on a nightly basis
