Looking towards 2025

Vegas, NYC and the South are probably the 3 worst places I can imagine living.

NYC is the richest and most iconic city in the world.

Vegas is iconic and an epicenter for sports and entertainment.

The South is home to 130+ million people and its poorest region (Mississippi) has a higher GDP per capita than France.

Have you ever lived in the South? I'm a stone's throw from the beach and mountains (less than two hours for either), yet I comfortably live on three acres in an area between Raleigh and Charlotte. It's honestly amazing.

If the rumors are true about Sasaki there's not many better options for him than Atlanta. And that signing imo would be bigger than signing Soto for us. Soto you hope will be worth what you pay him. Sasaki is virtually guaranteed to provide more value than he costs. We don't have the rabid media of LA or NY. We are primed to compete for years to come. We showed we can and will prioritize pitcher health over winning. In Japan they pitch once a week. One thing I am curious about is what's stopping a team from signing him then signing him to a 7 year contract for more money a month later. Does a team have to wait at least 1 year after signing?

From the MLB Trade Rumors mailbag chat today. They don't have inside info, but still found this interesting with all of the names they mentioned as possibilities for Atlanta.

Bill asks:

What will Atlanta do this offseason with their shortstop, pitching, catching, and outfield needs?

I don't think the Braves will do anything significant at catcher; they might be content to use Chadwick Tromp as Sean Murphy's backup and see how Drake Baldwin comes along. If they wanted to limit Murphy's playing time, they would've kept Travis d'Arnaud.

In terms of starting pitchers, the Braves have been linked to Walker Buehler, Nick Pivetta, and Nathan Eovaldi so far. We'll know by Friday whether they tender a contract to Griffin Canning. I don't love the Pivetta fit, given that he declined a qualifying offer.

12 days ago, Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution tossed out some of these same names and also speculated on Jordan Montgomery, Jack Flaherty, Kevin Gausman, and Shane Bieber. I consider Kikuchi another viable free agent option, as well as Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, and a reunion with Charlie Morton. The Braves could make a play for Garrett Crochet, or try to trade for Fedde, Sonny Gray, Zack Littell, Jesus Luzardo, Luis Castillo, or Jeffrey Springs. They could sign Jeff Hoffman as a starter, given how well that strategy worked with Reynaldo Lopez.

And somehow the life expectancy in France is a decade longer than it is in Mississippi.

Oh look, my stalker has made an appearance to argue with me after vanishing for months. Never seen that happen before.

The same thing that stopped anyone from doing it with Ohtani..MLB will not tolerate anyone abusing the international signing pool limits like that and will veto any such contract.

1:28 Do you think the Braves regret any of the long term deals they gave out? Would they do a do-over with any of them? Impacts the tax either way.

Steve Adams

1:30 They can't be thrilled with the Sean Murphy deal right now. The rest of them are generally fine. Olson/Riley maybe not overwhelming bargains, but they're both good players in their prime who were worth 2-3 wins even in "down" seasons, and both have pretty realistic paths to a rebound.

It's not a long-term deal, but the Braves took on tons of money and paid significant luxury penalties to effectively buy Jarred Kelenic in a sequence of moves that puzzled me at the time and looks even weirder now.

Doubt they're loving the return on that so far

While I don’t think there was anything puzzling about the Kelenic gamble, I think this is pretty much sums up the reality of all the deals AA handed out.

Speaking of disappearing... after spending a year screaming about imaginary JIM CROW laws in the south (LOL), I do wonder where you've been on a prominent thread you made your priorities clear:

Crypto is the ultimate example of bigger fool investment strategy. The poster child for the current meme stock silliness.

Quick, someone explain to me that I don’t understand blockchain…fools.

I’ll be sure to track this thread as we see just how smart the wannabe manager actually is.

Lol the most delusional poster here. Pretend manager with pretend employees hoarding a pretend fortune.

I’ll keep this thread bumped as we track how right you are about crypto. Quick, explain to me how “limited supply” automatically makes it valuable. Toss out all the memes you can think of!!

LOL under 18k today. Buy the dip genius!

Everyone notice he’s not coming out with actual buy/sell numbers because he’s losing his ass. A bunch of vague posts trying to cover up his idiocy.

BTC now $96K... looking at building my next vacation house. What do you think? Beach or mountains?

And as stupid as you were on this one... nothing will ever beat you pushing JIM CROW in Georgia hahahahaa
