When you call every single FA overpriced they are, by definition, not overpriced. That’s the price.

Someone mentioned trading for Degrom if the Rangers ate enough cash. That is totally something I could see AA doing.

The only way I see us signing Santander is if he misplays his market and has to take a 1-2 year deal.

They are only worth their resale value. If I pay 10k for 94 Nissan Altima it doesn't make the car worth 10 k it just makes me an idiot. Teams are paying players based on guessing their future worth and 8 times out of 10 they over value the free agent. So we can say a player with a particular profile is worth xyz but their worth is really dependent upon what they do in the future. Maybe the correct term is teams over value free agents.

Nope. If you want a 94 Nissan and all the Nissan’s are going for 10k then they are not over priced. That is just what they cost. If you can’t afford that then you might want to look for the 94 Yaris.
 
I purposely didnt pick a car thats so old its valuable but I actually dont think Soto is overpriced depending on the team. He is a difference maker and if a team wins a WS or two during his contract I think it was worth it.

Take the under on catching prospects and you will rarely be wrong. Transitioning to the majors is rough for most catching prospects. Writers was the best C prospect I have ever seen and he was just an average hitter in the majors.
 
I'd absolutely trade Baldwin in the right situation, but he's undoubtedly a highly valuable, elite catching prospect.

I think Drake's offense will be good enough to play a position other than catcher, should we need him to (i.e. Olson going into decline). He walked nearly as much as he struck out in AAA this year and has elite EVs. He legitimately has a high offensive upside, regardless of position. So for that reason, I can't get on board trading him.
