That was last year. Because we had established stars at almost every position. It's not so much that Snit doesn't rest the starters it's that even if the bench player hits well there's no room for them to get more playing time. After all the injuries there's no way an OF looks at our team and thinks there won't be any playing time. No bench INF is going to feel they won't get enough playing time with Arcia ahead of them. Albies always misses a month or more. Riley just had a broken hamate bone which is nasty. Seeing as we let Laureano go in favor of a cheaper scrap heap player I can only assume the issue now is they just don't want to pay any bench players.

So what was true last year suddenly doesn’t apply to this year just because we had a historic rash of flukey injuries.
