Stubbs DFA'd

Jace and Gant Optioned to AAA

Tuiasosopo, d'Arnaud, and Brignac to Atlanta

Also, Folty has been added to the roster.

We had one spot open from the failed Bonifacio move.

Just saw this come across.. Stubbs needed to go. I have no desire to see him catch more balls with his mouth..

On a more serious note...seems like Jace's stock has fallen awfully far, awfully fast.

When in doubt, take your light hitting, defensively solid 2B and play him in LF and 3B so you can get an old journeyman Utility guy consistent PT at 2B, then option him so you can bring up another mediocre veteran. Bravo, Braves.

My guess is one of Tuiasosopo/D'Arnaud gets sent down when Bonifacio is activitated. I'm guessing Garcia will get most starts in left and KJ most starts at third. Second will be a platoon of Brignac and Castro. Bench is now Francoeur, Bonifcacio and one of Tuiasosopo/D'Arnaud. Righty leaning bench when you consider Bonifacio hits better from the right side.

If you guys thought NinersSBChamps was an ass before this well now that we've cut his real life cousin Stubbs he's gonna be even more Scroogesque.

It shows ruthless, single-minded calculation on the part of the front office. If our AAAA bench fodder can't cut it, we have no problem replacing them with more AAAA bench fodder.

Speaking of AAAA (which I thought was real as a 12 year old reading the fanhome days) what are Mr. Garcia and Buddy up to these days?

I think Reid Brignac can be a useful player.

In the last two years his walk/strikeout rates have shown some improvement at the AAA level. 10.6/15.6 last year. And 13.6/13.6 this year. They should deteriorate some at the major league level, but there is some room for that to happen and for him to still be a useful major league player. He has a significant platoon split, so I hope Fredi will limit his at bats against lefties. I'm ok with a Brignac/Castro platoon at second for now.

I am sitting here wondering what any of these guys have done to warrant a call up to the big club. Old and worthless is what I am seeing, don't we have anyone worth a call up that might be actually useful?

Brignac has a slash line of .329/.422/.400 in Gwinnett. This follows a very good spring training.
