Ritchie is now ineligible to get us a 2027 draft pick if he were to somehow win Rookie of the Year, right? I know he met the criteria of being on at least 2 top 100 lists, but didn't he have to stay in Atlanta the entire season?

Because of pen depth. The 5th starter spot technically won't be needed until the 21st against the Nats if they wanted to keep everyone on normal rest.

I’d guess they have some sort of arrangement to get him back if nobody claims him. I doubt the Braves have any interest in giving him up. They’re likely taking a calculated risk with their roster management
