Medlen, Beachy, Schlosser non-tendered

No, Venters had two already when he became Everyday Jonny for Bobby. Didn't he?

No, Venters second TJ came after Bobby and after Fredi had ran him into the ground the year after Bobby retired (though Bobby certainly used him a lot his final year). At least it was after then that Venters arm started falling off and later he had the second Tommy John, which he of course failed to come back from last year. Now he is trying a third which sad to say is even more highly unlikely.

Note, Venters first Tommy John came when he was in the minors.

I'm not in love with Varvaro. He is what he is. But he has given us some decent innings and has even found his way to pitch effectively in somewhat serious situations. He's a lot like Christian Martinez to me and those guys can be valuable.

I liked Martinez a lot more personally, I thought he was more effective in more a long man role whereas Varvaro isn't. Martinez before he started having shoulder issues was a good long man IMO.

CMart was that, but I like Varvaro because you can plug him into a setup role if Carp/(Now Johnson)/Simmons needs a day off. Heck he even saved a game (against the Mets I think) when we went extra's in a DH and Kimbrel had been used 4 straight days.

Teams could get him cheap. I think it's a decent gamble. I would love to have him back, but that's mainly a nostalgia thing.
