Braves acquired RHP Shane Carle from the Pirates for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Carle was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Sunday, who had picked up the 26-year-old right-hander on waivers from the Rockies ten days earlier. He made three appearances for Colorado in 2017; registering a 6.75 ERA in four innings with four strikeouts. He'll likely provide organizational depth for the Braves in 2018.
