Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

Yeah. That 101 win 1997 season should have been enough to show Ted that JS was a hot pile of garbage.

Didnt hurt he had the #1 payroll in Baseball back then. He got off the train right as we started transitioning to a mid-market team. He made some dumb moves at the end to try and go for it all before he called it quits.

If we don't nuke the organizations (aka ditch the Johns and Bobby) then this is a massive waste. It's just losing the supposed next great GM and replacing him with a placeholder and business as usual.

Why does Bobby’s name keep getting grouped in with the other two snakes?

Bobby didn’t even know Coppy/Hart made the decision to fire Fredi. Now people are saying he’s why Snitker is still here. Bobby does not have much pull as he used to and that’s why he’s rarely seen as much.

I would rather he be Interim GM not Hart.

McGuirk ain’t going anywhere. He’s the corporate watchdog on behalf of Liberty.

I dont see Bobby going anywhere. It has to be JS or JH or hopefully both. I honestly wouldn’t mind it if Cox was interim GM. Cox helped build our farm before JS came and got all the credit.

McGuirk needs to be one of the first ones to pack his ****.

AJC on GM search.

“We’re probably 24 to 48 hours away from beginning to really assemble the list,” Hart said. “I’ve got people in the back of my mind, as do others. We’re in such a good spot as we go forward. This is going to be a terrific opportunity.”

And here is the AJC's top 5 list. McLeod and Stark seem pretty enticing.

Dayton Moore, general manager, Royals
Dan Jennings, special assistant to GM, Nationals
J.J. Picollo, assistant GM, vice president of player personnel, Royals
Jason McLeod, senior vice president of scouting/player development, Cubs
Kyle Stark, assistant GM, Pirates

Out if that list I like McCleod. But I’d be shocked if the Johns went that route.

I would give my left testiclite for Jason McLeod. I don't think there is any way they go that direction though.

I'm in the McLeod camp for GM. And I don't see them stripping us of Maitain after how heralded he was. They will probably keep us from signing anybody for a few years. I hope.

Pretty sure this means we should get Alex Wood back.

Not nextto a computer but I’m having a really good convo with Jeff Wren on Twitter. Someone can post the tweets here.

If Dayton Moore comes back, I hope he doesn't bring Ned Yost with him.

This entire thing is making me sick. I kept feeling like we were going to a more analytic approach the longer Coppolella was here, and I feel like all of that has been dashed by the old guard who is going back to gut managing and gut front office decision making.

And now comes the refrain of "he wasn't that good anyway"

Now that's just bull****. I bet I can easily pull some quotes, as far back as when Wren was still here, talking about how he was the "young genius" and highly coveted by many organizations.
