Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

I think the biggest takeaway here is that Hart should still be gone. There's no way he wouldn't be aware of this stuff.

Honestly, though, if we lose Maitan, it stands to reason that it's because we cheated to get him, and wouldn't have had him to begin with if the process had been on the level.

I get that. But I spent a year+ excited to likely get him, spent another year anticipating finally getting to see him play in our system, and now it can all be taken away from us fans because of something that's not the fans' fault. Cheating that frankly all clubs probably participate in to some extent, but apparently Coppy was the one that got snitched on. If MLB had a problem with the rumors of and eventual signing of Maitan, then they should have investigated it two years ago. Sanction the Braves going forward for 2-3 years or whatever.

If we lose the #8 pick then we sucked this year for nothing and Snitker was stealing PT away from the kids to win for nothing.

The most optimistic spin i can put on this collision-course we seem to be on with Dayton Moore . . . maybe he is self-aware enough on his strengths and weaknesses that he'll hire an analytics-savvy GM to run the day-to-day. I suspect that it not the case, but a boy can dream.

Per Bob Nightengale

The same associates of Dayton Moore who believed he was staying with the #Royals before today now believe he likely will leave for #Braves

So many choices and you go with the retread (good old boys club)...this just reeks of shadiness

So, if the difference was under the table to save the Braves on penalties, then fine the Braves 200% of that amount or something equally financially painful. But don't take the player away from the fans at this point.

So if Maitan becomes a FA then do the Braves get that money back?

The disjointed moves during the rebuild certainly make sense now that we know just how divided the Braves FO was.

I was a critic of the FO, but even I couldn't imagine how terrible they were.

I don't think we will ever know what was really going on, who screwed over who, and who to blame for what.

What we do know is the old guard is still in place and looking to add more old guard members.

Hard to believe that Liberty wouldn’t notice an extra 5 mill threw under the table...bundling is believable however
