Megathread: Braves lose Maitan, Bae and 10+ plus International Sanctions.

Add Mark Langston to the group as well. That's the guy I think Newcomb probably comps to best: Link: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/langsma01.shtml

Edit: I should add that when I say comp, I don't mean that Newcomb will become Langston. I think Langston is probably his ceiling if he puts it together.

Again, you got owned. You asked a sarcastic question, and it got thrown back in your face. Just own it.

How do I own it other than saying "Haha I sure did"?

You are so giddy with excitement when someone proves me wrong you can hardly contain yourself. You should probably go change your adult diaper now that you've pissed your pants with happiness haha.

I just looked up a picture of Doug Harris, and I swear it looks like Coppy just hit the steroids and changed his name. He is the non-weenie version of Coppy

Found some very positive articles about him though, seems like a very classy/nice guy which seems like the opposite of Coppy...lots of players/coaches talk highly of him...definitely like him better than Jennings from what I’ve heard..

Here’s an article about Harris from two years ago

I've just recently discovered that this Nubyjas Wilborn fellow existed. He's a pretty good reporter. Love seeing that item in bold.

With Snit staying that seems like the best thing to do...a “Davey Lopes type” would be great as a first base coach, don’t know if anyone like that would be available and I have no idea who they would consider as a bench coach to “help” Snitker

If Liberty was going to sell the team then you're not going to see it just pop up all of a sudden to some random buyer. Look at recent sales of teams. You tend to have multiple interested bidders who go through rounds of cuts before one is eventually settled on. You're probably talking about a process that would take the better part of a year.

No ****?

I'm thinking Billy Ryan is going to be important either way we go. He probably has the most knowledge of anyone in the front office of the current rosters and created the analytic software we're currently using Tomohawk.

I say give the young guy a chance to be the man.

If the reason DM doesn't take the job is because he doesn't want Hart looking over his shoulder the whole time, the Braves are going to have a hard time getting anyone other than an insider or young guy from another organization.

Nobody the Braves hire is going to be "the man". He's going to be Hart's glorified personal assistant.

Ryan was just demoted.

Ryan was just demoted.

One of the stories goes it was because Coppy and he were not getting along sharing responsibilities. If a new GM comes in they're going to need info and who better than the guy who created their analytic software and has handled GM responsibilities.

That's why I'm saying just give him the job. Plus he's a youngster who worked for Hart before so he could be fine working with/for him until he rides off in to the sunset.

DOB's latest piece has some interesting stuff. It includes one source who "insists" the Braves had told amateurs to fake injuries and to tell other teams they weren't going to sign so they could fall to the Braves in the draft.

I was also listening to sports radio this morning. Chris Dimino hinted someone with the Braves had told him something pretty juicy but that he was hesitant to go into it and betray the source. What he did say was that he wouldn't be surprised if more people are forced out.

I'm not usually one to put much stock in sports radio host's rumors as it's their job to pump up interest. However, Dimino has a long history of covering the Braves. This just further backs up that the worst of it may be yet to come.

While this is definitely slimy and I don't doubt it happened, I think this would be really hard to prove.

Everyone must go. This is a disgrace.
