As a 32 year old, aside from our parents dealing with it, 9/11 didn't really hit us. We were basically out of that by the time we exited High School, same with Enron, same with SARS in 2003. But yeah working through the first financial crisis was sucky. This one at least I have a brighter outlook because realistically we should come through this one much quicker because we're not failing because of bad decisions by the rich, but instead because of a once a decade Virus. And honestly, for me, I think it's good, it is pushing forward things that would be better for us like UBI and social medicine.

yeah, thinking about it, every generation is shaped by events. Be it Iraq,9/11 - the meltdown. Or, Viet Nam, Civil Rights or WWII and the Great Depression.
Was a silly meme

Obama was for gay marriage in the 90s, ran for national office and changed his position only to civil unions. Went on Rick Warren's show and stated only civil union.

Once the country was in majority favor of gay marriage by 2011, Obama pivoted to being pro ssm for 2012.

It shows Obama is a savvy politician who understands incremental progress.

IIRC in 2004, the country was like 85-15 against ssm. By 2011 it turned into 52-48.

Donald to his credit has stated gay marriage is the law of the land, and he said it as President.

This is gonna require some time to buy in, but it's brought me joy in the last day. As someone who's minorly musically talented and who doesn't love rich people telling me everything is gonna be OK. So I'm glad someone who's much more musically talented was able to disect and pick fun of the ****ty Instagram video from Gal Gadot anda bunch of celebrities singing Imagine poorly.

And him putting it with the band. Holy **** the drum work he does is brilliant. His ability to slide just slightly off rhythm as a player makes me smile. And he makes it sound like it fits. A+.

This is something I do not tolerate with politicians. It might look like they are politically savy to you but to me it tells me they will take any position as long as it protects their political career. What impresses me about a politician is when they stand up for whats right when its not popular. Bernie marching in the civil rights movement. Ron Paul going into hostile environments to fight back against the war on drugs in the late 80's, etc. What you told me about them is that they are political whores who will say and do anything to get elected. No thx.
