i got to figure out what to do with the stash my son let behind when he went back to school from spring break...i assume he didn't mean to leave it behind...but the missus and i have discussed the possibility he meant to and wants his parents to enjoy it...he's usually not so thoughtful and considerate

Depending on the size of the stash and the legal status in your state, I’d give him a courtesy heads up. It was common in college to buy for a group of friends if you had the hookup.

If you have a sous vide cooker, it's very easy to make Butter as it holds it's temp very well so you're basically impossible to scorch it which is the usual concern. The best format IMO is to use that in Peanut Butter cookies as it hides the flavor the best. Not that I have any experience with that feds who're watching what I type.
