idk.. I feel like Vance has always been quite relatable. 2028 is a long ways out, but wouldn't be the worst thing if he was the Republican nominee

I think Trumpism broke that a few years ago. I remember thinking Vance was *fine* for a while even if he held views I found abhorrent. Then the Trump brand of political discourse took over and he was suddenly a cringey prick overly invested in the culture war. My personal opinion is he overcompensated because his background was making it to the Ivy Leagues from Appalachia and he suddenly found himself in a movement that doesn’t value that and he just didn’t find his new footing.
