Maybe you should move. Or does VA present other opportunities to you that make paying the tax easier? Like the ability to make more money.
As far as your loose concept of own, yes. I don't think they own it, but your silly idea that I bought something therefor that is that it's mine, is childish. The fact you don't understand taxation and its general concept and purposes is childish. I'm glad you reacted that way, realize that is how absurd it is to act like the government has no "right" to tax or ask questions like "Would I be better off with my own money"
I'm in VA... I have the dumb personal property tax
I always thought you were at least a little smarter than this.
I guess I shouldn't complain if the government taxes me at 99% because, hey! It's theirs anyway. And they are always the most efficient at using the money
So in other words, you're still childish. If you don't like taxes, why don't you move to Bermuda?
males have it so tough
especially white males
you say this a lot... rarely back it up with anything
I think the entirety of human history backs it up.
How about in USA in 2016?
Do you really think it isn't easier to be a white male, still, in 2016, than any other demographic?
I understand disputing what—if anything—we should do about these inequities; that's at least a disagreement regarding best practices. Maybe you trust cultural and economic systems to correct themselves, or feel intentional meddling in systems and manipulation of policies is more likely to make things less fair, rather than more so. Again, while I may disagree, there's at least a rational point of divergence there.
But to deny that white males (and, particularly, straight cis-gender male WASPs)—in the US, in 2016, more often than not—don't get certain benefits of doubt—whether conscious or unconscious, intentional or accidental, malicious or meant-to-be benign—seems to me an unreasonable position to take.
I do think minorities get discriminated against... especially in the criminal justice system...
But I don't see any favoritism of men over women... in fact, I see the opposite
