It's funny to me that you're defending it so hard... it was just a dumb comment... hyperbole at its finest. No big deal - it happens. But can we not at least make fun of it?

Not sure if I'm better than that, or not, but I am sure that you misunderstood my point. I did not reference the Dallas incident. I was referring to Obama's speech, specifically in re easy access to firearms making cops' jobs more dangerous, and that we ought not gloss over that danger when approaching the issue. That's a statement that is pro-LE and urging folks on his side of the aisle to challenge their assumptions and to consider the context when approaching the issue. It's largely apolitical, as well, since we're largely talking about illegally acquired firearms.

But you'd rather throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I read the article. It's partisan as hell. The article is basically 1) Praising Obama constantly 2) Poor Obama, he's a victim of so much hate. Egan has a reputation of a liberal biased reporter and it shows clearly.

He praises Obama for his behavior, not his politics.

Why would Egan's reputation matter? I'm quite capable of reading a conservative's views and admitting that they can make good points. Can you?
