What's Castro guilty of that our own leaders aren't? Obama has dropped bombs on 7 countries. A country holding 25% of the world's prison population doesn't have the right to look down on other brutal dictators. Just because 2 private parties take turns being our brutal dictator doesn't make it any better. They aren't even obligated to hold fair primary elections.

only an idiot believes that tweet

you can take that comment to all 3 tweets posted above this post for the record

i know we have agreed before and disagreed before but i'll be damned cajun, hitting pretty close to the nail on the head imo

i think my biggest problem with Castro hate is trying to act like Cuba was great before him and whitewashing everything that lead to making Castro, well, Castro

Who is praising Castro? There is no excuse for his thuggery, but like goldfly said, there's a reason he came to power. The U.S. kind of screwed things up (like they did in Vietnam with Ho Chi Minh) after Castro took power. He could have been our stooge in the same way the U.S. has had stooges throughout Latin America over the years. Probably more of a longshot with Castro than with the other guys, but people tend to forget that Castro was viewed as a romantic revolutionary hero before he sidled up to the Soviets.

Isn't this yet another example of "nobody wants to actually make things better, they only want to make political hay by pointing out how effed up the other side is"?
