Well to be fair, he only has about 23 more gold medals than I do.

I have a friend that participated in this years Olympics and came in 12th.
When I was a teenagers father we were once at a banquet where a Gold Medal Winner spoke. He passed around his 1 medal, it was quite a thrill just holding it

I don't want to derail this thread anymore, but I remember back in 2012 some people here were all on Ryan Lochte's jock saying he was better than Phelps, so on so forth. Lochte has been a great Olympian, winning 12 medals including 6 gold. But damn were some people wrong, as Phelps won more gold medals "past his prime" than Lochte has his whole career. Hell Phelps won 5 gold medals at 31.

Phelps is the Babe Ruth of this generation for sure.
