In fact, what he appears to be saying is that had "certain people" not been so territorial, they all could have co-existed happily on the Good Ship Alt-Right? Am I interpreting that wrong?

So let me run this down again. If he wrote glowingly about the alt-right, specifically traced its lineage through Spencer, et al, but did not at any point even cast a scintilla of shade at their ethos, I just can't believe that you won't admit this amounts to elevating and legitimizing them.

The only people he speaks even remotely disparagingly about in that bit are actual self-described Nazis. JMO, but I wonder if that's because it's harder to play these little coy association games with people who are straightforward about what they are, unapologetic about advocating violence, and don't obscure the nastiness of what they are with layers of pseudoscience and faux-intellectual tripe?

Look dude, the alt right that milo promoted was clearly the trollish gamergate side of the alt right. Not a great group of folks, I agree, but to automatically tie him in with the small racist portion of it is honestly kind of a dickish move. I've been following Milo for a while and I honestly had no clue who Richard Spencer was before Hillary and her clan started exposing that side of it. If anything it was Hillary that made them more widely known. I've listened to him denounce white supremacists multiple times. This obsession you have with finding the racist in everyone gets a bit annoying though. Maybe it's a personality thing you can work on a bit.

The piece I'm referencing was published in March of last year. Hillary's speech was 5 months later. Sorry, but you can't exactly blame Pantsuit for this one.

Brah. Chill. I'm not calling you a racist. I'm not even calling HIM a racist. I am saying that he used his platform to elevate and legitimize racists, and the fact that you can't even take that little step tells me a lot about your good faith.

Your repeated complaints about complaints of racism remind me a bit of that classic Onion piece called something like "Why Do All These Homosexuals Keep Sucking My Cock?" Seriously. After a certain number of nights lying down with dogs, it might be reasonable to ask if you might have a flea or two.
 
*I read that over and it reads like I'm accusing you of being a racist. Again, I'm not. Nor was I when I commented on your link to the article about the subliminal bias story. That was a joke, and one I thought would be clearly understood. My dog/fleas comment meant that if you've immersed yourself in a particular kind of media, it's hard for someone like me to understand why YOU find the accusations of racism aimed at those circles to be so outrageous.

And what I stated was that the article clearly was a love note to the meme/troll part of the alt right, not the white supremacy part of it. He, well actually probably not even Milo but the other dude who cowrote the article ('m not convinced Milo even knew who Spencer was), just defined the racist elements of the alt right. Spencer had one sentence in that article and Jared Taylor wasn't even mentioned. That's not what grew Spencer's popularity. The whole point of the article was to glorify the trolling of the alt right.

You asked me if I thought Milo elevated white supremacy. My answer is no. He elevated the trolls. Spencer's popularity didn't grow until Hillary talked about him and he did that stupid hail Trump thing. Here's the deal. If you don't want a dangerous white supremacy movement led by a dangerous basement dwelling nerd and former porn star, then stop with the damn identity politics. The real dangerous racist games are coming from the left. Telling white people how much they need to apologize for being white. Unless of course you think Tila Tequila is going to go around dildoing white people to death, not sure what race she would hate to be honest, then yeah maybe the problem is from these dangerous alt right white supremacists. Grow up.

I apologize. I'm elite level grump today. Day 4 of being sick and my wife woke me up with back pains she had, so like zero sleep. I think I'll leave the board for tonight and come back tomorrow.
