You wear that term like a pair of gym shoes for an hour and a half every other day.
When you are finished you change them to corporate loafers
and when you get home you put on a pair of slippers or worn out gym shoes
personal accountability is a phrase used when one is expecting another to live up to their personal standards.
My standards are mine and peculiar to me. Same as you
When you and I disagree it is not because you are not being personally accountable it is because we have two different views
I understand how hard it i for low income families to get health insure.
Most can't afford it on account of "personal acountability" but because they have to choose between eating, getting back and forth to work, school cloths and paying outrageous monthly premiums.
The more we discuss health care it becomes startling clear who is raising or has raised families and struggles with the reality of day to day economics.
And the socio economic standing of my fellow Braves fans
Big country and a lot of different stories, huh ?
one is mutually exclusive of the other ?
" My opinion is derived that I believe in individual liberty and you think we have a responsibility to take care of others. "
You do have the option (liberty ?? )of opting out of the system . But, moving forward, that is beside the point.
ACA in some form is here to stay -- how would you structure to avoid the "78%" issue ?
I would favor a Medicare for all and eliminate the insurance industry all together -not happening. That being my position I have to compromise .
What about you, what are you willing to compromise?
For the record and this might be a conversation for another place and another time but I am more so everyday uber in favor of peacetime mandatory service.
Be it military , medical or manual.
I was so against the draft but my version of Making America Great involves us getting to know each other again.
want people to be forced to pay for care for others.
This is a loss of liberty -
I absolutely understand how it works A group of people pool their money to make reduce the risks of claims.
Right... so you don't believe in individual liberty... I already established that several posts up
Not so sure how one "believes" in individual liberty. Or Personal REsponsibility for that matter
I can see how one would ascribe- but believe ...
How's about using another bumper sticker ?
Personally I like
" My Karma ran over my dogma"
Now there is something you can sink your teeth into
Because you know neither worn out right wing trope or cliche if you like individual liberty or personal responsibility will pay for a years worth of chemo for a stricken child.
And no matter how much you lecture parents making 60 to 100K a year once they are tapped out, worn out and distraught from said illness/ treatment, it still won't pay for the child's possible cure.
I sincerely hope no one here has to learn this first hand
I had a condition a few years back that required mild chemo treatment. For my check ups I had to walk past the childrens wing of a well know hospital . It is a fact neither personal responsibility or individual liberty were going to treat those kids.
However, having to worry wjether you can pay for the childs treatment is one burden no parent should have to endure

Maybe we talk about Opiod Addiction treatment or mental health treatment some time
Again, I hope no one here has to face the reality of debilitating illness.
Because frankly I don't think many of you know what you are talking about
