he's like the president

garbage

i guess garbage humans attract other garbage humans though

I think Sessions backed Trump solely because he was the only one crazy enough to let him be attorney general. This is a guy who once recommended the death penalty for a second drug offense.

If we're going to use Gorsuch as a victory for this Administration, I quit.

Not for the Administration, but he certainly counts as a victory for Trump voters.
With all the howling over Benghazi, emails, Comey, and Russia, I think Mitch McConnell's role in electing Trump is overlooked. I feel confident that the opportunity to fill Scalia's seat with a conservative convinced many people to vote Trump despite some serious reservations. That doesn't happen without McConnell Borking Garland.

You cannot possibly count this a win for anybody but McConnell.

So not getting Garland onto the court was a failure for Reid only?

This logic doesn't agree with me.

SCOTUS picks are about so much more than votes.

The Gorsuch appointment can absolutely be touted as a victory for Trump and his administration.

It's will probably end up being the most enduring legacy domestic legacy of his presidency, since legislation can be undone, but a SCOTUS appointment is forever (or near enough). So yes, it's a huge success for Trump, albeit one that he did relatively little to achieve once the nomination was made.
