Language notwithstanding, greenhouse gas emissions from cows have a bigger environmental impact than one might expect.
Methane gas produced by bovine flatulence contributes a significant portion of the greenhouse gases contributing to global warming, according to the United Nations.
Livestock farming produces about 18 percent of all those environmentally damaging gases — and about a quarter of that chunk comes from cow farts and burps, the U.N. says.
The lawmakers appear to recognize this. One of the Green New Deal's 14 infrastructure and industrial proposals is to "work with farmers and ranchers to create a sustainable, pollution and greenhouse gas free, food system that ensures universal access to healthy food and expands independent family farming."
Spokespersons for Markey and Ocasio-Cortez did not immediately respond to CNBC's questions about the reference to cow farts in the summary of their Green New Deal.
In the meantime, America's nearly 100 million cows can look forward to years of munching grass and passing gas still ahead of them
my guess would be that some kind of use of hepa filter technology would ease these effects .

I'm not even saying I am in favor of the resolution
but at lest take the time to understand what they are proposing. Why they are proposing and how they expect to solve the problem .
I understood immediately what they were talking about
it really wasn't that hard

The fact of the matter is, the broad policy goals behind most of these "fringe" ideas enjoy popular support. Just last month, taxing the rich at higher levels was quickly labeled "radical" just as soon as it was given life by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Then pollsters went out in the field and found Americans broadly supportive of it, with 76 percent of registered voters agreeing that America's wealthiest should be paying more in taxes. Even Fox News was forced to report its own poll found 70 percent support for raising taxes on people making more than $10 million a year. Oops.
Support for Medicare for all proposals notched a similarly high 70 percent with Americans last year. But the substance of such a plan is far from settled and more recent polling suggests support does differ depending on the details of the plan.
But this type of public debate and policy vetting is exactly what should be happening as the nation begins to grapple with its future and, in this case, how to continue expanding health care access in the country.
Meanwhile Republicans, permanently wed to their golden oldies, used their power trifecta to deliver the nation a tax cut for the rich that has proven deeply unpopular. That didn’t go well. And in fact, the closest thing to a new idea coming from Republican quarters is Trump's obsession with building a border wall. Guess how that forward-thinking concept is polling? About 20 points underwater.

I saw a video of college students saying how they loved the green new deal, and then when read word for word the proposals, the nicest reaction was "that's a little extreme"
For some reason, AOC still used air travel instead of Amtrak.
For some reason, coastal property value has not plummeted in anticipation of our coming demise in 10 years.
Support for grand big "feel good ideas" will always be broad but rarely will it be deep.
Of course, the math doesn't work. We can't even pay for our current spending let along increasing 25-fold.
The logic doesn't work either. How do we eliminate all fossil fuels, all natural gas, and all nuclear energy but still power a super train system and every car in the country? Better yet, how do we eliminate our most efficient travel system without killing GDP?How do we retrofit every building in the country, especially when we can't use any energy to do it...And then to top it all off, the US isn't the climates problem. We are 14% and declining every year. Achieving this doesn't stop the demise we're being promised.
Some estimate that getting to net zero emissions would require 130 Americans die... I guess that's why we need the socialists in power?
It's just so... Stupid. she did herself a huge disservice by putting out something so insane. The Dems are in a no win situation... They can embrace it and let the country see how crazy they are, or they can reject it and be called racist Republicans who hate the world.
Why does every single progressive idea require a massive, no-turning-back government takeover? This would estimate almost 80% of our economy being run by federal, state, and local government. Just complete insanity
