What do you call it when a person holds what the other party wants/needs over their head unless they do him "favor". If Florida is hit by a massive hurricane and DeSantis asks Biden for disaster relief and Biden says he can have it so long as he public announces an investigation into Trump. That wouldn't be leveraging DeSantis?

Except Trump never did that. Read the transcript. He asks for a favor but doesn't say do this or you don't get your stuff. On top of that do you think he would try to extort Ukraine with people from both sides listening in on the call? Get a grip on reality.

When Zelensky asks for specific weapons Trump responds with "I need a favor". If this isnt leveraging Zelensky then why was the aid stopped? It stopped because Zelensky wasnt getting the message. Help me smear Joe Biden or no aid for you.

There were other countries that were delayed as well. Was Trump shaking them down too? Zelensky flat out said there wasn't a shakedown. If he wanted to he could have destroyed Trump but he didn't.

He did exactly that. He stopped transfer of military aid to Ukraine and then directly asked for personal favors. The implication was as clear as day.

But there's also space for plausible deniability. I'm not surprised his followers can rationalize no criminal intent in his actions. Human beings can rationalize any meaning from any situation.
