Rico here. he said that with a noontime interview with Mad Dog Russo, but almost immediately backtracked. He has apologized to Siroka and issued the following statement:

“I messed up today when I was on that little TV show with Mad Dog [Chris Russo],” Snitker said. “Soroka does have a chance of getting back, and I didn’t think he did. So that was my fault. I created a firestorm with all of that.”

A person familiar with the situation responded to Snitker’s comments on the show by saying Soroka’s status will not be determined until his right Achilles tendon is re-evaluated in two weeks.

“We’re going to know more then,” Snitker said. “I just assumed when I saw him riding around on that scooter, there wasn’t a chance. But I got that wrong. I screwed up. It’s not the first, and it won’t be the last.”

The question is why. Shoulder? Leg? Elbow? Doesn’t want to play under twitner? Didn’t like board name either? We need this answered.

I certainly wasn’t expecting him back.
Mueller and Vodnick and Davidson are coming- and our starters have actually been really good. As long as we don’t leave them in too long. I think we will be more than fine.
Playoff rotation of Fried, Anderson, Charlie and Ynoa will be back by then - I feel is WS good.

Playoffs?? We haven’t gotten over .500 all year.

Vodnik left early, so maybe velocity was injury related. If not though, hard to be too excited about a rhp sitting 90-91

If twit went on tv and said soroka was done and then we find out he isn’t then twit needs to be fired immediately. That is just dumb.

Think you more or less HAVE TO go to a 6 man rotation whether anybody likes it or not. Counting on Ynoa to come back throwing like he was prior to his last start is a little ridiculous - he had the best stretch of his career thus far, and then broke his hand. Is that as bad as an elbow or shoulder? Of course not, but there's no telling whether he gets the feel for his slider back or how long that may take. If he's able to and can give you a couple playoff starts, great - just don't PLAN for that today. Everybody thought Soroka would be pitching without limitations by now not too long ago.

The offense is going to have to step it up - even without Ozuna. They're going to have to do everything they possibly can to make sure that they get Morton, Fried, and Anderson through late September healthy AND somewhat rested, meaning they're going to have a bunch more games they're going to have to score 6+ runs to win when Wilson, Davidson, and Wright toss clunkers here and there. I'm sure they don't WANT TO do it, but AA would be a little nuts if he doesn't consider keeping Wilson, Davidson, Wright, Muller, and De La Cruz on the shuttle constantly with Newk, Tomlin, and Roark used as openers (or telling Snitker he HAS to follow the shuttle guys with them no matter the situation). If two openers can get you through a lineup ONCE two times a week, you follow them with the others from that group and ask them to do the same - that gets you to the parts of the pen you feel relatively good about.

We're down to managing the remaining regular season innings much earlier than anyone hoped, and you simply can't trust Snitker to do that since he has an incredibly tough time looking past the next inning - expecting him to worry about how he's going to get Morton. Fried, and Anderson to September without them having all pitched 170 innings at that point is beyond nuts.

The whole bit from Snit the Twit makes me think AA is on the hunt for a pitcher, and Snit hurt his leverage by revealing that we are more desperate than it might otherwise seem, and he was quickly told to fix it.
