Everything's getting purged in Turkey.

It also is cool in a way somewhat because it shows that even in the age of social media something like this can happen historically.

Nice job OK. Making Chuck Norris Great Again. I bought this gem 10 years ago while going school supply shopping. This was around the height of popularity for Chuck Norris Jokes. There's no way I was gonna use this in school. Sits on my desk.

I like my cell phone, but I don't think it could stop a bullet.

PS--Anyone want to trade for my herd of Rattatas and Pidgeys? I have a stable full. Can't seem to catch anything else.

My kids might, they get into that stuff. Not my cup of tea though. My daughter told me one of the main goals of the game was supposed to be to get people up off their backsides and moving around. I suppose that may be one good thing to come from it, though I can't really think of anything else, except maybe that Chuck Norris has proven yet again that he can conquer any challenge. :)

That or at least not letting the opportunity go to waste. All my friends have become even more careful in their communications. Thankfully they aren't in the two major cities.

I hope and pray they are and remain safe. You know, the Ottoman Empire was where the Wahabi movement started back in the latter 1800s and even though they were an empire based on Islam they tried their best to destroy it, but failed. Too bad, huh?
 
I had actually hoped to visit them all soon. If I do that it will have to be in another country. This all makes me so sick. If this continues the Islamists will have full control and secularists (which had been so strong in Turkey) and minorities will have completely lost.

To think it's been less than a century that the secularists have had any real root in Turkey and all of the progress the country has made due to the changes made in the 1920s. It is difficult to believe what is happening.

I agree, neither democracy in general or western culture is for everybody. I can see how a really old society would prefer to stick with more "traditional" ways, but to go back to the 7th century and something as crazy as Sharia law is beyond me. That's crazier than letting BOTH Trump and Hilldog be president at the same time!!! Besides that the Turks haven't even really been in that area longer than since around the 600s m/l.
 
sad that all the conversations and fears i heard from Turks 10 years ago when i was there are turning out to be true/their worst nightmare
