Miller market 'hot'

For yet another time, please understand...

Corey Seager and Julio Urias are "off limits". The Dodgers have said this for over a year now. If they wouldn't trade them in a Cole Hamels deal, they're certainly not going to trade them for Shelby Miller.

And the Dodgers can start next year with wood and Anderson as their 2/3.

OR.........OR..................OR................

They can sign one of the 20 Free Agent pitchers that won't cost them Joc, Seager or U.

Kinda funny to see someone believes those guys would be near the front of their rotation. An interesting note from Rosenthal earlier today that apparently some missed - the Dodgers have had internal discussions about signing both Price and Greinke. Certainly not likely of course, but that should answer any questions about where Wood and Anderson will slot into their rotation. Even without doing that, there would still be an outside chance that Wood isn't even in their rotation to begin the season. If they sign one of the three left and trade for Miller, you're looking at Kershaw, Greinke/Price/Cueto, Miller, Anderson as their top 4. They've also got Ryu, who's their version of Minor. Brandon McCarthy will be back at some point, and Urias could potentially be ready in the second half.

One could even argue that Wood could be part of a deal for Miller.

The Braves did ask for Seager, per Bowman.

You can't expect to try and get Miller and say all of these players are off limits take the scraps. But if Urias is off limits then it would be De Leon and Barnes

And Hamels makes quite a bit as it is. Shelby is controlled for the next 3 seasons at a pretty low cost. It would the same as some look at Freeman, do you wanna give up all that talent and pay 20+ million a year? Most don't wanna do both.

Doesn't hurt to ask, just as everyone did about Simmons (until they got what they wanted) and Freeman (who no one's offered enough for - yet) - they knew the answer before asking though.

I mentioned over a week ago that I thought DeLeon, Alex Verdugo, and Barnes would be a pretty good offer for Shelby. If they'd go there, I'd take it and never look back personally.

speaking that Price and Zack are the prize, only two have the possibility to get them.. and it would be better if none or only one is able to pick one of them up. I like holding assets that other teams fight over. I think Cueto is equivalent to Miller..but a whole lot cheaper.

None of Price or Cueto cost a pick.

I'd wait after Price, Greinke, Cueto sign before trading him.

Seager is untouchable and Pederson is apparently unavailable so they must not want him to bad. If they do then Urias has to be on the table. If not then go elsewhere.

Or keep him, dont have to trade him.

I think that's a load of horse hockey personally. We're talking about professionals here that worked together on a major deal less than half a year ago.

There's just no such thing as an untouchable player -- let's throw that out of the window now.

Don't be duped into believing that Friedman wouldn't hesitate to drop either (Seager/Urias) if the right package fell into his lap. Not saying that a deal involving Miller would be enough, just making a general observation.

It's technically true that no player is ever fully untouchable, but it is also true that we can not put together a deal that would land us Seager. We might be able to put together something for Urias, but none of us would like it.

I highly doubt that.

I do remember when Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes were 'untouchables' though ... halcyon days, for sure.
