Hessmania Forever
Didn't realize Gwinnett was going tonight. They are currently down 1-0 to Jacksonville.

Starting Line-up
White-DH
Grissom-6
Shewmake-4
Luplow-7
Tromp-2
Wall-8
Sanchez-5
Fuentes-3
Dean-9

Elder pitching.

Gwinnett bench is Hudson (C), Culberson (IF/OF), Park (IF), Sierra (OF)

Tons of pitchers.

Good for Shewmake. 0-4 with 4 Ks vs lefties. They went to a lefty in the pen in the 9th and he hit a walk off homer.

Shewake reedemed! Hits game-winning 3-run HR in the bottom of the 9th to win the game for the G-Braves. Final score 8-5.

I believe in Grissoms bat but I’m not sure he’ll ever be serviceable at SS. Think he could handle LF or be a centerpiece for a trade?

Even if he was slightly below average at SS he is better serves as our Chris Taylor.

Im ready to see if Grissom starts at another position tonight. I sorta expect him and shewmake to at least rotate ss/2b

I will do today's Rico Memorial Wrap-Up

We may actually have something in Tromp as a backup. I don’t remember how his defense is though

Grissom with a fantastic box score …. 1/3 with a triple - scored three runs - took two walks -
Ops 1.600……

And then you see an E next to his name 🤬

Not sure why people are so hard on Shew after one game. I don’t hold much weight in minor league track record. Mainly because we don’t see statcast data or have good info on injuries or other issues. We know he had a good spring. We know he had a few bad ABs. That is pretty much it.

I think Grissom has a pretty high floor. I don't know how high a ceiling, but I think he's a contributor at the major league level. The position question on him has always been around since he was drafted. It was observed then that he might "grow out" of the shortstop position. Remains to be seen. Curious if they use him as the Gwinnett shortstop three out of four days and where they put him when he's not at shortstop.

Because when you strike out 4 times in a game when you have below average power that’s really awful. He’s never hit in his career. Why do people expect that to change?
