Minor League Thread Part Deux

No, I love what I’ve seen of Diddy. I just not sure I like the rushing. Then again, like someone said, going against the Marlins is basically like a AAA start.

I said that so you know I'm right.

Also people need to realize this is likely just a spot start to reset the rotation again for the Mets. I doubt he stays up unless he just completely shows out and takes Elder's spot. Didier will be on 6 days of rest compared to someone like Waldrep who would be on 4 days of rest. If that was reversed we would likely see Waldrep making the start tomorrow.

After a slow start our big 16 year old signing Diego Tornes has been tearing up the DSL with an 8 game hitting streak.

.343/.361/.514 slash line during the streak with 7 SB

Glod has also gotten a bit hot in Augusta

Best thing about him is that his EV'S have been reportedly 105+. He's also been raved about in camp before. Might the Braves have done a thing? Glod...I reported on recently. They're are games he looks so good.

I wish the Braves could have gotten Leo De Vries in the international draft last year. He went to the Padres for less than we give Perdomo and is killing A ball and is now rated the #3 prospect in all of baseball.

That's a high exit velo. I wonder why he doesn't have any homers yet.

He's been close, but right now, I think contact and line drives have been what they've been working with him on. He makes contact and I think his adjustments and ability to barrel the ball, make contact much more important. Take Perdomo....I don't. know what they're telling him to do, but he's been striking out more and I think it's about the plane of the bat and swinging if the ball is near the vicinity of The Battery. He and Tornes have good strikeout rates.

Prospects in the system have abysmal contact rates. It's good to see a few have an idea of where the strike zone is.

Caminiti's line tonight:

4 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts
I've been in on Caminiti, but it's really easy without me having to even give a report on what I've seen (I've already done that), but he's been my one since spring. Even above Ritchie who I hold in high regard. The only guy I haven't raved about is Hackenburg and I'm still there. He's got potential for real...but he's a 4 to me at best. Good stuff, bulldog..pedigree..but, he's got a few things to firm up.
