Minor League Thread Part Deux

The rest of his repertoire is very mediocre though.

The 4 seamer has plus velocity, but mediocre movement. However it could play up well if he could actually locate it. But he can't. The Slider and Curve are below average, though the curve seems to have improved.

He's still a future reliever in my book and they need to stop pretending like he can be a starter.

As long as his control remains an issue I agree with his future releiver outlook. If he can have a splitter in hte mid 700s it can be a absolute weapon out of the pen.

That being said, I'm not sure why he hasn't gotten a look in the rotation yet this year yet. It's a lost season and we have nothing but jokers in there now besides Strider. If he's a future releiver then service time implications really don't matter.

I believe the projections were very high on his development arc. Body type, feel, lack of pitching experience etc... to show a lot of progression.

And he has. Just maybe not a finished product.

If you guys Are interested, there's a top prospect list yall can go to. You ungrateful bastards may like reading the same shyt I've given you from an eye test 😂😂😂. Seriously though..it's a good read. And I hope I'm not detracting from THIS site. I just know some of you love prospect talk.

Lucas Braun: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 2 WP in a 5-0 loss to Montgomery

Kendy Richard (20 years old) made his Augusta debut last night and had a wild stat line: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 9 K

Pitching today in the minors:

JR Ritchie vs. Durham (62-40)
Nathan Wiles vs. Durham (62-40)
Ian Mejia vs. Montgomery (52-47)
Herick Hernandez vs. Greensboro (69-28)
Jeremy Reyes vs. Carolina (56-39)

Never heard of him until looking at this game log, so maybe Deester has some details on him.

In the FCL this year:

44.2 IP, 34 H, 13 R, 9 ER, 2 HR, 19 BB, 37 K. I don't know what to think about his stats last night compared to his season stats.
I watched the fourth inning of his start last night. That’s when it all kind of fell apart for him when he got close to 80 pitches. But he was throwing a slider and changeup, both getting whiffs. Fastball was only 89-92. Kind of surprised his K numbers weren’t higher in the FCL though.

He was part of the 2024 international class but older at 19 than other members of the class (maybe he was just being honest about his age). Just looking at the two-dimensionals his K numbers aren't eye-popping, but I will leave it to Deester (that should be a new baseball scouting show for Braves' fans: Leave it to Deester, starring Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsley, Tony Dow, and Deester as the Deester) to provide live analysis.

OK 50, I haven't stopped laughing since the disappointment of the trade deadline. That was funny. As for Kendy, I did see him (not nearly long enough) but he was so non-descipt that I barely have any notes on him other than he's got a good build and a thicker body to me. (Rayven Antonio-eque). A slider and changeup is correct and some pitches I saw would have been deposited into orbit. That doesn't say much at that age and level, but that's all I had on him.

You'll probably hear some experts say he has helium but unless he gains a solid 4-5 mph or the slider /change flash plus....there's not enough there.....YET. His promotional debut was better than he showed at lower levels.
