Minor league thread

Why worry about him? He gone. I've thought he could be serviceable but he won't be a star. I believe that. I'm more excited about a.178 hitter in the minors than I ever was about him.

I've followed him for years now. Just habit, I guess. I followed allard, pache, and shea too.

Speaking of...
Pache .749 ops
Shea .850 ops

I'm not thrilled with Matt Olson, but trading pache was a great move. The guy is a bad prospect now, and that's pretty shocking to me

ETA... I don't get the ".178 milb hitter" statement. Who is this in reference too?

1-1 tonight, and yeah k rate is high, 27.3% for all AAA PA this season

I dream on the talent. Still think he could be a fourth of. But k at 27 percent in aaa and I think he’s going to strike out at record rates in mlb.

I’m with you on the Olson deal. I thought it was a lot to give up. I wanted to keep langeliers for two years from now.

After I learned more about the negotiations I get why aa went this way.

Totally with you on all of this. Pache was my big miss. Dude worked his arse off all the way up and is a great kid. It happens though. Good post.

What do people know about Vines?

Just promoted to AAA. Numbers are good. My worry is it seems like everyone says he's 90 mph on the FB +/- 2 mph with a history of dead arm in the middle the season. Flat Fastball at that. I don't see how a RH can be an impact guy at that velocity unless they are Collin McHugh, and that is a specific role. But the K/9 is pretty good.

The Braves have moved a lot of the college-level draftees from 2022 to Augusta from the FCL. McCabe, Janas, Exposito, Baldwin, and Ogans all in the starting line-up tonight.

Grissom’s low K% with solid power as an up the middle prospect is very intriguing. Certainly, you would hope the BB% increases as his BABIP comes down to earth. But considering he’s sported good walk rates at earlier levels, I’m not concerned.

I would love to see statcast data to understand what type of ceiling he has, but he seems like he is a high probability starter at the big league level.

Exposito having a huge game in his first with Augusta. 3 for 3 with a homer, a double, and 4 RBI… Janas and Baldwin also very solid in their A ball debuts

Malloy I’m not sold on . K rate too high given power output.

But a guy worth tracking. Not saying he’s bad, just I’m not sold.
Nah Russ. Concerning as that K rate is for the moment, he has a plan in his ab's. Very solid. Not saying star but I've seen much worse from higher ranked prospects. He's the type to play a while in the big leagues because he should never be less than a .250 hitter with a few dingers that some will dream on.

Didier Fuentes could be one to watch in the DSL. Starting pitcher who's 17, 6'0" 170.

He's had 9 starts thus far and has a 1.77 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 38 K's in 35.2 IP. Nice to see guys in that league with some control.

I agree. Questions are how much power and can he stick up the middle?

Walk rate was great before. So did approach change? Maybe aa pitchers are just challenging him more? Maybe aa pitchers better control? Maybe just sss?
