Minor Shoulder & Urethra Issues

There are certainly teams that have better rotations than ours, at least on paper. The Nats, Cards, and Dodgers (not conincedentally most people's picks to win their divisions) would qualify. Do they "have questions"? Sure, but we have more.

I was talking about depth, numbnuts, 6-10 pitchers.

Cards, yes, they have stupid depth in a good way.

Dont know about LA.

Nats are about the same as ours.

1-5 is an important part of depth. The most important, in fact.

Numbnuts.

HEALTH is a huge issue when talking about depth. You, of all people, should really stop insulting everyone until you get your **** together.

Without insulting, we're the only team with possible health issues?

Of course not. We have more than (or as much as) other competitive teams, but without the ace and/or innings eater to cover. I mean, the only guy on our team who had 200 innings last year is already hurting. That's terrible news. We need Minor and Medlen to throw 210+.

Even if it was a long term issue Wren isn't going to go out and Sign Ervin Santana tomorrow. Wren will let this team play out the first 2 months of the season with what they have and then start looking if he feels like he needs to.

I was in the group that wanted 1 proven SP added (not named Gavin Floyd) but when Floyd was added that killed that.

That's because of our bullpen. Our starters gave up more runs than any other NL playoff team.

ERA- of NL playoff team starters

Dodgers - 88
Reds - 90
Cards - 94
Braves - 95
Pirates - 96

Seems to me the Braves, Cards, and Pirates were all equals last year in terms of their rotation giving up runs. Braves starters also had the 2nd most innings pitched among playoff teams.

It's not supposed to be a long-term thing.

Medlen had 197. I think that's close enough to 200 for it to not matter. Julio also had 185. Pretty sure he will reach the 200 mark this year barring injury/horrible performance. That's 3 guys who should be able to get 200~ innings.

This is what I don't understand about you and Niners, always focusing on the negatives while totally ignoring the positives. You want to talk about the Braves starting pitchers giving up the most runs among the 5 starting staffs of the NL playoff teams last year. But no mention that the Braves did that while throwing the 2nd most innings, tossing the most quality starts (only the Tigers were better in the entire majors), allowing the fewest walks and having the 2nd most strikeouts.

It must be hell to live a life where all you do is find the negative in everything. Try finding the positive in things and you'll live a longer, happier and healthier life. :icon_biggrin:

You have no idea about my life. It would be nice if you and a few others started focusing on the argument instead of the poster.

As for what you said -

The reason I only mentioned runs is because I was responding to a comment about runs. Think about it. Context matters.
