Newly signed FA Cesar Lopez goes on Rome DL with lower back strain; Tyler Vail activated.

4-6, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, CS(1)

He has hit it on the screws all night. His 2 outs so far have been fly outs to RF. I love how he uses the entire field. If you don't have MiLB TV please get it! You can see the guys without leaving your house. Although I love going to Rome games.

Always a good sign when they hit the next level running. Hype train gaining steam indeed. This team needs a spark plug type guy badly.

I wonder if it's possible for Peraza to convert to CF. We need one badly.

There are a number of ML center fielders who played SS in the minors. BJ Upton being an example. It would be better though if Peraza spent half a season in the minors or spring training playing any position he hasn't played before.

I'm sure Peraza can handle learn CF or 3B. Would hate to have him start playing a new position mid season but may need to give it a shot.

Even when he was in a bad slump CJ had a far better batting average than BJ has ever had as a Brave. If Peraza replaces either of the two it needs to be BJ.

Exactly. That's why I'd like to see Peraza change position. We've got to get BJ out of CF as quickly as possible(without hurting Peraza's development of course). If it's not Peraza we'd have to wait until Kyle Wren's ready.

The BJ UPton era is going to expire before it ever began. It sucks that as soon as Ugglas horrible contract is off the books we are going to have to deal with BJ's.

Peraza is an absolute stud and if he could learn to play both 3B and CF it would be great. CF for now to replace BJ next year but if Wren can continue to progress maybe Peraza plays at 3B in 2016.

I wonder how much not wanting to piss off Justin is involved in this. Maybe they think he won re-sign if they do something drastic with BJ. I just get the Renteria/AL vibe from BJ. Maybe its just something about the AL like it was for Renteria in the NL. Really the only difference is that in the AL he would have 1 really hot month and hit 12 homers that month to make his overall season decent.

I think if they move Peraza to CF it may tick off BJ(and more importunately Justin). Peraza would be like the guillotine hanging over BJ's head.

Justin's probably to the point where even he's thinking "my brother sucks". :) In all seriousness, Justin's a smart guy and realizes that this is a business. He knows his brother isn't producing. He also knows that we've given BJ more chances than about any other team would.
