MINORS REPORT 4/6/18: Undefeated! Can anyone here start a streak???

Pretty easy to see why Waters’ strikeout numbers were so brutal in danville last year. He really swings at everything. Approach needs a lot of work if he’s going to make it.

Nice night for Jefrey Ramos. 3-3, 1 BB, 1 2B, 1 R, 2 RBI. I'm hoping the reason he only has one "f" in his first name is that the "f" that would usually be there will be used for "f*cking amazing."

Watched the G-Braves in Norfolk tonight. Soroka pitched very well even without having his command dialed in for at least the first three innings. Got groundballs when he needed them. Finally seemed to put it all together in the 5th. Sitting 93-94 on the Norfolk gun, which isn't typically hot, and touched 96 in the 5th. Very encouraging start, first time I've seen him in person.

I watched as well, and had a slightly different take. While I'd definitely agree that he wasn't "dialed-in", I felt that was the most impressive part of his outing. While he didn't plow through everybody and mow their lineup down, Mike looked like he was in complete control right from the beginning - I honestly can't say there was ever a point where I had that "uh-oh, here we go" feeling. You can certainly understand why people were so impressed with him during camp.

He's going to be the Maddux/Glavine to Gohara/Folty/Newcomb's Smoltz - the one that never really worries you (except on his absolute worst nights when he has nothing), and gives you that "if they don't get him now while he's a little off, they're in a world of trouble" feeling IMO. He won't wow anyone until you look at his numbers after the end of the game or a season.

Oh, no doubt, he never looked in trouble. Even when he was missing his spots early he wasn't leaving anything in places where guys could do damage. His mound presence was good, looked every bit the top pitching prospect.
