He had one great start in AAA last year. Which seems to have unduly affected some people. Maybe unduly affected the FO since he was called up shortly thereafter.
Had one great start in MLB, too, didn't he?

Thanks, wasn't sure. So Albies was semi well regarded. Looks like we unearthed two treasures in both 2013 and 2014, outperforming many guys who signed for millions those years.
That 2013 class was loaded, though: Eloy Jimenez, Gleyber Torres, Rafael Devers,Victor Robles, Sandy Alcantara. According to one list I found, Albies was the 44th ranked international prospect that signing class.
The 2014 class appears to not have been as good: Anderson Espinoza,Franklin Perez...can't think of anyone else. Who am I missing? Was that really it so far? I know the Yankees went nuts that year, spending over $30 million on bonuses but so far that entire class hasn't done much of anything for them. Acuna might end up the best international signee from 2014.
This thanks to Walk-Off Walk:
Placed on DL: Carlos Castro (#49)...One day, he's hitting three homers in a game. The next, he gets blasted in the face and is headed to the DL. That was Castro's week. The three-homer barrage occurred last Wednesday and was part of a 5-for-5 day. He came out of nowhere to hit 17 homers last year in just 84 games and Wednesday's effort gave him six on the young season. Now, he's out for an undetermined amount of time as he suffered a facial fracture when Lakeland's Endrys Briceno came high-and-tight against him.
On base four times. Despite his recent rough stretch, he's reached a level of pretty much league average in hitting, in a league where he's the youngest player. I am hoping he'll get hot and hit like he did in AA last year. Unless the unthinkable happens and the Braves are in a playoff race after call ups are available, I hope he finishes the year in AAA, and posts full season stats that are excellent.
Thank you. As been stated by many..myself included..his bat to barrel skills are uncanny. Thinking about his injury, it's got to be scary with his wrist and forearm torque. I broke the radial head bone in my forearm and you literally can't rotate your hands, wrist..forearm.I think we are underestimating the effects of the season ending injury and recovery Albies has gone through. I am not convinced that he has fully recovered yet.
That seriously blows, had no idea he got hurt. A facial fracture can't be an easy thing to recover from, especially mentally.

Prospect fatigue is real, but Albies is still our best prospect. I've seen some thinking he is Peraza 2.0 but to me he's much more.
I would guess it will be two full years until you start seeing the old Oz
June 2018 is the correct date for him being called up.
1.5 years in AAA? Even if he finishes this year with a strong performance?
If Phillips continues as is...he will be traded by the deadline.

I see no way Albies isn't on the opening day roster. He is probably up in September.
