MLB Baseball Changing for 2021

According to Eno Sarris and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, MLB is making changes to the baseball for the 2021 season which will reduce offense.
Big news. In addition, five unidentified teams are adding humidors for storage of baseballs, bringing the total to 10 (the Rockies, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Mets, and Mariners already use them) across the league. The Athletic obtained a memo which was sent to teams last Friday detailing the minor changes. The ball produced by Rawlings will be slightly less bouncy, but the overarching goal of these changes seem to be one of consistency. While this is being pitched as slight alterations, there will surely be some unintended consequences we can't possibly account for right now. Player evaluation was already going to be tough after the shortened 2020 campaign, but this makes it even more difficult.

So baseball dicks around on DH for months but decide to **** with the ball and allow teams to tamper with them before games. God we need a new commissioner. Unbelievable.

I feel like this should have come out at the end of last season. This feels short notice.

Huh the Mariners use one? The need there makes no sense unless they just want to. I wonder if it’s team choice or MLB.

Manfred is a joke. Seriously, is there any way for the players to push back and force his removal? I know the owners don't give a **** bc they're still seeing the money flow in, but it does seem like Manfred's ideas are designed to take the fun out of the game and hurt the players.

Manfred is the worst commish in sports right now and it’s not close

Admittedly I have a new appreciation for Selig. I like passive commissioners. I can’t stand Goodell either or maybe Tagliabue just ran the league in an era I liked better.

A note on the DH- said the MLBPA and Owners could make a deal still outside of the agreement on protocols.

I hate this.

It should have been either implemented or not a week after the WS so teams can prepare the same way. Its total bull**** they are going to drag something out til two weeks before ST. Same with the baseball.

Selig, at the very least, genuinely loved baseball. Manfred may or may not, but he certainly gives off the vibe of someone who attends games with some clients and then leaves in the 7th inning.

Dickfred is only for the owners and thus is killing our sport. He doesn’t care about growing the game just bringing in the money for himself and the owners. He is by far the worst commissioner ever.

I hope Manfred gets COVID.

Told y'all Manfred was a douche. His zeal to make the game his has ruined it. God help me I miss Bud. Brian France did the same damn thing to NASCAR.
