MLB Network did had a special program Friday night to announce the Top 100 prospects, but my dad insisted on watching the car auction on Velocity. So I am posting what they have as I get it.

My guess for midseason list: Blair drops off due to service time, Riley places into mid-80s, Touki jumps back in but only into the 80-100 range, Fried places into 80-100, Allard jumps into top 60, Dansby places in top 5, Ozzie into top 25.

Cubs have 6 on list; Braves, Brewers, Dodges, Reds, Twins all have 5 prospects on this list.

Shocked Riley not on list after he was named No. 8 third baseman earlier in the week.

I was surprised on Riley to. He was ranked #6. If Sims comes out and starts the year like he finished last year I could see him climbing onto the list to.

ok, being a stat nerd, I have updated my spread sheet. it now has 4 tabs. Baseball Pros. and then both 2015 and 16 100 top prospects. I also compared the 2016 list to the 2015 list to see how people changed. I haven't studied it too much yet... but Jose really dropped. Also interesting to see the Newcomb went up in his Fastball and Off Speed, but dropped in Control.. Anyway.. feel free to use it, or download it so you can manipulate it as you feel. here is the link..

**link might have been broken.. sorry

I might build on this more.. maybe add the Braves top 30 when it is ready. I think Riley is right out of the top 100..

Definitely will be interesting to see how quick Swanson moves. 2017 is realistic but we all saw last year how quick advanced college bats like Conforto and Schwarber moved. Not out of the question he comes up mid season. Not saying it's likely though

As long as we have Aybar, then 2017 is his target date. here is to hoping Aybar has an incredible year and we can QO him...All though, the Desmond situation might make the Braves think otherwise.

Don't get the love for Buxton so much. He showed last season he was far from ready in his time with the Twins.

I just don't see any way they QO him. They are looking to spend next year and if he were to accept then we'd be stuck with another over priced player. On the flip side, the market is pretty bare next year so there may be a ton of interest in him.

I'm still hoping we flip him to the White Sox for some prospects.

Watched him for half a season in Chattanooga. Best CF I've seen since Andruw. Wasn't healthy much of the time he was up last year.

His defense is second to none. If his bat can even begin to improve he will be okay. I just don't see a ton of upside for his bat.

Considering Callis and Mayo are two of the pundits who helped make Mike Trout Mike Trout, the hype is likely well-deserved. They don't toss Trout comps around lightly.

Buxton (21 years old) - 1,069 ABs, .301/.383/.489/.892, 43 2Bs, 37 3Bs, 28 HRs

Think I'll wait to see what he can do when he's not hurt rather than rely on your vast prospect knowledge there Niners.

Jim Callis was answering questions about the MLB top 100 on Twitter today. Some of the Braves notes:

Austin Riley was on pace to be top 100, just needs more at bats above rookie ball to show more

Touki has top 100 stuff, but needs more polish; his performance at Rome wasn't quite enough

Lucas Sims was also in discussion, has top 100 stuff but needs to prove his end of the year/AFL performance wasn't a fluke

So those 3 are knocking on the door of the top 100, Soroka could get there before too long if he keeps it up, Fried will be there if he proves he's healthy and still has the same stuff...and Blair is the only guy we have on the list likely to graduate off by midseason, if not the end of the year.

Add the #3 pick in the draft and potentially Maitan as well, and we're going to be giddy when the next couple editions of this list come out.

I can't remember, do they do a full update at midseason or no?

Yeah they do a midseason list to. So Buxton, Seager, and possibly Gialoto, and maybe one more will be off of it making Dansby a top 5 prospect.
