MLB Playoffs Thread

The tigers are having the same problems we used to have you can't win post season series if your pen is as bad as your starters are good

I was just gonna say this before the playoffs started that the Tigers over the past few season remind me and are basically constructed the same as the late 90s Braves teams, and it looks like it's gonna serve them similar fates.

Fantastic starting pitching depth with 2-3 ace starters (Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz vs Verlander, Scherzer, Price) and back end starters that would be 2-3s on other clubs(Neagle, Millwood, Avery vs Fister, Sanchez). A patchwork bullpen of has beens (let's not go there) and an offense centered around 2 HOF caliber players (Chipper, McGriff vs Cabrera, Martinez) and a lineup filled with a bunch of guys that put up good stats and are mistake hitters but have holes in their swings, which is compounded in October when you meet solid pitching game in game out.

Can a meteor not just come down over Dodger stadium? That's the only way Ill be hally with this series.

I'd also accept a seismic crater opening up and swallowing both teams into the molten chthonic depths.

And throwing it right over the plate with little movement.

But whatever.

On another note, after watching him for a few years, I still don't think I've seen a pitcher get Carpenter out.

@Ken_Rosenthal baseball is now who scouts and processes the info the best. @ClaytonKersh22 tips out of the stretch, #Cardinals didn't forget

Probably watched six minutes of baseball since the Braves got destroyed by the Nationals in Atlanta.
