MLB Playoffs Thread

What's the point in winning the NL East. Whoever wins just gets their heart broken in the NLDS. It's almost better watching it happen to the Nats instead of us.

I don't think this board would have been able to handle this game/series if it was the Braves instead of the Nats. We would have already killed ourselves twice.

I would have kept Petit in but i dont know if he got PH for.

Was watching something else at the time.

I'm so old, I remember when Yusmeiro Petit was supposed to be the next big thing when he was coming up in the Mets' system. Mets sent him to the Marlins in the Carlos Delgado deal and he never developed into what some thought he would.

Little known fact: Braves drafted Brandon Belt in the 11th round in 2007 but he did not sign (obviously). Braves drafted him as a LHP when he was at San Jacinto (TX) JC. He continued on to the University of Texas, where he played 1B and was drafted in the 5th round two years later by the Giants. Red Sox drafted Belt in the 11th round in 2006 out of high school (Lufkin, TX). They also thought of him as a hitter.

Petit wasn't thought of highly in the scouting community but he out up great stats in the minors despite not having great stuff.

Great win for the Giants.

Thats gotta sting for the Nats, Williams yanking Zimmerman is beyond stupid.

Not to mention that cheater Clemens pitching on 2-days rest and how everyone acted like he was a damn hero.

Yeah, I'm really bitter about that one. Considering that was our last playoff appearance for five years.

Let's not forget at least two blatant missed calls that went against us too late in that game. The safe call at first that led to a run for the Astros, and the Ausmus balless glove tag at the plate that prevented an insurance run for us.
