MLB.TV or television

HD on the big screen all the way. Being far-sighted requires wearing glasses to look at a small display or hand held device. So this is an easy decision. Haven't gotten Extra Innings in a few years though. Kind of expensive, but nice to have it when the urge strikes to watch. Comcast just bought out my cable provider, Time Warner. Considering there are hundreds of channels of content, not worth watching or paying for, there has to be bandwidth for Sports South.

This might not be a popular opinion around here, but if the Braves play the Mets, the Mets broadcast team on SNY is much more enjoyable. Would take Ron Darling over Joe Simpson any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I agree. The SNY guys are some of the best in baseball.

The Mets do have a very good broadcasting team. I think they are very objective and quick to point out the good things opposing players do.

The Mets announcers are one of my favorites to listen to as well. The only beef I have with them is when Gary Cohen gets extremely excitable screaming "IT'S OUTTA HEEERREE!!!" and you'd think it was a game winning homer in playoffs. I know, I know, Chip is even worse lol, but I'm not defending our guys.

I wish they didn't have blackout rules. I would definitely get MLB.tv so I could watch the Braves. My cable just got cut off last week and it's not in my plans to get it cut back on anytime soon. Guess I'll be listening to the games on radio like I was stuck doing for most of the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

Every once in awhile I like listening to the radio feed. Reminds me of when I was younger. Don't you live in Braves market? Or are their games only televised on cable?

Would anybody here be interested in pooling funds for a MLB.TV account? I did it last year with three other people from another website and it ended up working out well.

Possibly. How did you guys go about doing that?

Joe is one of my favorites, I think he does a very good job and is fairly objective. I liked it when we had Sciambi, I thought he was a good contrast to Joe and they developed great on air chemistry.

Boog and Joe worked great together. Chip and Joe together are HORRIBLE!

I have Uverse internet, and MLB.tv on my LG smart TV is most definitely choppy at times...and I can assure you it has nothing to do with my internet connection or the wireless tech in my house. The streaming internet baseball feed is just flakey, and there isn't anything you can do about it. Maybe it's the MLB.tv app itself, but the "why" is really inconsequential.

Having said that, I go with MLB.tv because for the most part the feed is decent quality, and I like being able to watch it on my phone or work pc if I'm not home.

You share the login email and password with them and you can all watch. I did it the last 3 years with a couple buddies. We were all watching the same game at the same time. I would have thought they would limit the number of connections, like Netflix does, but they dont.

I was more focused on the money aspect of it.

Give me the tv anyday. In years past I have had the mlb app to listen to games that we're not on mlb ei, but now that that is over with it's all tv all the time. As far as the booth, the mets guys are very similar to ours in they have no problem giving credit to the opponent when due. Certainly can't say that about Santangelo and Carpenter in Washington. 19 miserable games every year with those two.

I shared an account with a friend a few years ago. A few times we had issues when trying to watch simultaneously. Made me enter my credit card # a few times.
