They got rid of Kyle Tait at Mississippi for this guy? This is painful to listen to.
Struck out the side in the 3rd, gave up one hit and it looks like it may have been another infield hit.
3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K.
it was.. weak contact, slow roller.
He hooked Austin Dean on a 3-2 count that completely fooled him for the 3rd out.
That 2015 draft is ridiculous.
That's at least 3 Ks looking. Seems to be fooling everybody.
very good draft...the Soroka pick was brilliant

Franco unloaded on that pitch.. I didn't know he had that kind of power.
Valenzuela with a big triple. He has hit the ball hard every time...
And they pull Soroka.. strange.. he hits but doesn't go back out. maybe the score ballooning to 5-0 and length of the half inning made them error on the side of caution.
Maybe they're just trying to get him as many ABs as he can get. The minors is more about development than winning games, after all.
I think if it was 1-0 or even 2-0, he would have gone back out for the sixth. He never labored and never looked uncomfortable. complete control. even when the SS forgot how to play baseball.. he took the ball and just threw strikes.
I doubt it. Again, decisions in the minors, especially this early in the season, are going to be made pretty much 100% in regard to a player's development; so I'm sure the Braves have him on a pitch count, like they do others.
But he'll be trying to hit major league pitching before long, so you might as well run him out there for one more AB instead of pinch-hitting for him.
I'm guessing the manager has pretty limited control over when to extend a pitcher further. I don't think it has anything to do with the score.
