One of the more notable occurrences over the weekend was Jefrey Ramos for Rome hitting a home run that was calculated to have traveled 494 feet -- the longest ever in Rome's new stadium.

Ramos, 6-1, 185, is 19 years old, right-handed hitter, who hit .307 a season ago but is learning about full-season play this year. He's currently .238-4-28 with less than a strikeout per game. Doesn't turn 20 until next February.

Drew Harrington, who gave up eight earned runs in 1.2 innings in his most recent start (June 5) has been released by the Braves.

The third-round pick in 2016 from Louisville, he was 3-6, 4.50 last year in Florida and was sent back to Rome after one FSL start this year. His 2018 numbers: 3-3, 7.22. Opponents hitting .318 off him.

The lefty was the 2016 ACC Pitcher of the Year, and signed for $900 K ($112 K over slot). He was the 80th overall pick.

Consider: The Braves drafted Anderson, Wentz, Cumberland and Muller before Harrington. They drafted Bryse Wilson the following round, Tucker Davidson in the 19th round, Corbin Clouse in the 27th.

Have to say that this draft has not been impacted by Harrington's washout. Still a shame.

harrington was always an odd pick, especially when we gave him overslot money.

Braves loves lefties. They reached for Harrington it seems.

Somewhat surprising to release him this early in his career. Wonder what all was involved there.

Ynoa...

We have a pitcher emerging

Last three starts have been great, and the walks have gone way down. Hopefully they found something in his delivery. Saw on Twitter that he’s been 92-5 tonight.

Ynoa has always had fantastic raw stuff... would be awesome to see him really emerge as a big prospect... he's still plenty young enough and would end up being a huge coup for Jaimie Garcia when everyone was disappointed

Basically the only reason we got a guy like him was that 3 start stretch last year where Garcia dominated. Right Sheffy?

More good Rome pitching news — Jasseel de la Cruz listed as their starting pitcher tomorrow night. He had a great couple of starts at the beginning of the year and then went to the DL with a mysterious injury. Excited to see how he does.

I forgot about him. Yeah...he was doing well.
